Menstrual blood, water, textile, glass bowls, stools
„14 days“ is an organic, living installation, which changes over time. Underpants covered with menstrual blood soak inside water-filled bowls.
The artwork is based on my personal experience with menstruation and birth-control. I wanted to find a long-term and effective contraceptive, but I could not continue using hormonal methods. Unfortunately, they are the most popular today, and the only effective non-hormonal method is the copper IUD. The main side effects are longer and more painful periods. The title of the installation refers to a long menstruation and reflects a frustrating nevertheless poetic ritual which comes with removing blood from textiles.
